Product description

OHTO NO-NOC 0.5mm Auto Lead-Advance Mechanical Pencil

Write page after page without ever stopping to click. The OHTO NO-NOC uses a pressure-sensitive auto lead-advance mechanism: as the lead wears down, gentle writing pressure feeds out the next fraction automatically, so your line stays consistent and your train of thought stays unbroken.

Why writers and students love it

  • No knocking, ever - the "NO-NOC" mechanism advances 0.5mm lead as you write, no thumb clicks needed.
  • Built to resist breakage - a cushioned, spring-loaded sleeve absorbs sudden pressure so the lead flexes instead of snapping.
  • Even, uninterrupted line - ideal for long lecture notes, exam papers, journalling, and technical sketching.
  • Slim metal-tip balance - a low centre of gravity and a comfortable grip keep fatigue down during marathon sessions.
  • Made in Japan - OHTO has engineered writing mechanisms in Japan since 1929.

Specifications

How to use

  1. Click once to feed the first lead into the sleeve.
  2. Write with normal, relaxed pressure - the mechanism does the rest.
  3. When the lead runs out, remove the cap and drop in fresh 0.5 mm leads.

Care

Use only 0.5 mm leads, avoid pressing hard enough to bend the guide sleeve, and keep the pencil capped in a pencil case to protect the tip.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to click this pencil while writing?

No. After the first click to load lead, the pressure-sensitive mechanism advances the lead automatically as it wears down, so you can write continuously.

What lead size does the OHTO NO-NOC take?

It takes standard 0.5 mm mechanical pencil lead. HB or B leads give the smoothest feed and the best break resistance.

Does the lead break easily?

The cushioned sleeve absorbs writing pressure, which makes breakage far less likely than with a rigid fixed-pipe pencil. Very heavy pressure can still snap any 0.5 mm lead.

Does it have an eraser?

Yes, there is a small replaceable eraser beneath the cap, and the same opening is used to refill lead.

Is it good for exams and long note-taking?

Yes. Because you never stop to click, it is a favourite for lecture notes, timed exams, and long-form journalling.

Is this a genuine Japanese OHTO pencil?

Yes, this is a genuine OHTO product from Japan.

Can I use it for technical drawing?

Yes. The consistent 0.5 mm line and metal tip work well for drafting and detailed sketching, though it is not a fixed-sleeve drafting pencil.
